Jodie Sweetin is addressing rumors that she has beef with her “Full House” costar Candace Cameron Bure.
Sweetin and Cameron Bure played sisters Stephanie and D.J. Tanner, respectively, on “Full House” and its 2016 sequel, “Fuller House.” Anyone who follows the two actresses on social media knows that they have very different political views, but does that equate to an acrimonious relationship?
Back in July 2024, Sweetin took to her Instagram Story to make fun of the backlash to the Olympics Opening ceremony. Some religious viewers thought a tableau that represented the gods of Olympus looked more like a parody of Leonardi DaVinci’s “The Last Supper” painting.
“Tell me you don’t know about art or history, without TELLING me you don’t know about art and history,” Sweetin wrote via her Instagram Story at the time, alongside a video explaining the opening ceremony’s connection to Greek culture.
The post raised eyebrows, considering the fact that Cameron Bure was among those who criticized the performance.
“[To] see the opening ceremonies completely blaspheme and mock the Christian faith with their interpretation of the Last Supper was disgusting,” Cameron Bure said in an Instagram video. “And it made me so sad.”
During a Monday, April 28, appearance on “The Vault” podcast, Sweetin revealed whether her Instagram Story was directed at Cameron Bure.

“To be honest, I wasn’t speaking about her,” Sweetin said. “Everyone was like, ‘She came for Candace!’ … I’m not changing anything I said, but it was not an intentional dig."
Sweetin said she didn’t realize Cameron Bure had posted about the opening ceremony when she shared her own thoughts on the matter. She noted that she and her TV sister don’t often talk politics together.
“We’ve always been very different on those things,” Sweetin said. “It’s like family members. Maybe we don’t talk all the time, and I know if politics comes up it is not going to go well, but I don’t hate you. I am not going to not hug you, but I’m also not going to keep my mouth shut. … I’ll be nice, but I won’t be quiet.”

Sweetin still follows Cameron Bure on Instagram, although Cameron Bure is no longer following her.
“I’m not gonna unfollow anybody,” Sweetin said on Monday. “I don’t live my life based on social media.”
“Full House” is available to stream on Hulu, while “Fuller House” is available to stream on Netflix.
