In a tragic incident early on Wednesday morning, a portion of a bridge connecting Vadodara and Anand districts of Gujarat collapsed, causing a truck and a Bolero SUV to plunge into the Mahisagar River. Initial reports suggest that the accident occurred during peak morning hours when vehicular traffic was significant in the area. Two people have died, and three others are critical following the incident, sources informed. The incident occurred on the Padra–Mujpur stretch, a key connector between Central Gujarat and Saurashtra, leading to a massive rescue operation by local authorities. According to initial reports, two trucks, two ECCO van and a pickup van fell into the river when the bridge gave way. Soon after the collapse, locals rushed to the scene and alerted emergency services.
