Two gang members where found guilty of murder over the 'execution' of a DPD driver during his daytime delivery run. The 23-year-old driver, Aurman Singh , was brutally attacked by a total of seven men armed with a knife, axe, shovel, golf club and hockey stick. The DPD driver "didn't stand a chance" of survival after the seven-to-one attack, and was left to die on the pavement. Mehakdeep Singh, 24, and Sehajpal Singh, 26, have been found guilty of the murder - a result of the three-week trial at Stafford Crown Court, where the jury heard the attack took place in broad daylight during his daily deliveries in Coton Hill. Aurman was left with such severe injuries that it was confirmed he had no chance of survival. The DPD driver was declared dead at the scene. The then-suspects disappeared in a white Mercedes Benz and grey Audi, stopping to stash their weapons close by. The Mercedes, which was Mehakdeep and Sehajpal vehicle of choice, was found ditched on Kynaston Road, Shrewsbury . From there, the pair were reported to have taken a taxi to the closest train station, travelling to Wolverhampton only to escape to Austria. Footage released by West Mercia Police showed the killers were caught after they ran to Austrian village, Hohenzell. This final verdict follows five other men being found guilty of Aurman's murder, and accumulating a total of 122 years in jail last year. The Detective Chief Inspector, Mark Bellamy, labelled the attack as "violent and calculated," saying: "Sehjapal and Mekahdeep, along with six other men, carried out this attack in broad daylight on a quiet Shropshire street with only one intention – to kill him. They used inside information to get hold of Aurman’s delivery route, where they lay in wait for him, before using an arsenal of weapons against him knowing he was defenceless. "Sehjapal and Mekahdeep, knowing what they had done, then fled the country in an attempt to avoid being put in front of the courts and facing the consequences of their actions". As of April, 2024, Arshdeep Singh, 24, Jagdeep Singh, 23, Shivdeep Singh, 27, and Manjot Singh, 24, were jailed for 28 years each. The fifth culprit - who was revealed to be the inside source - was Sukhmandeep Singh, 24. He was convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 10 years. The court jury were told the final Singh armed the gang with Aurman’s delivery route so that his accomplices could carry out the horrific ambush effectively.
