Gary Neville speechless as Benjamin Sesko fear called out in Man United claim

Gary Neville was rendered speechless when Ian Wright highlighted a concerning scenario regarding Manchester United signing Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenia international joined from RB Leipzig for an initial £66.4million with additional fees totalling approximately £7.6m . Sesko is an exciting prospect, but his youthful inexperience and United's poor return of scoring 44 Premier League goals last term means doubts are persisting over his potential impact. Rather than concentrating purely on Sesko, Neville also discussed fellow summer arrivals Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo , setting the trio a collective target of 35 goals. Wright challenged this observation, noting how earlier in their discussion, Neville had suggested Viktor Gyokeres' inaugural Arsenal campaign would prove disappointing should he net merely 10 Premier League goals. During the latest Stick to Football podcast , Neville initiated the debate by saying: "Sesko, we know less about him. Obviously, we've seen bits about him. "We've seen centre-forwards come to United over the last six, seven or eight seasons and it's not been easy. There is going to be pressure on him, obviously [Rasmus] Hojlund is still there." Wright subsequently responded: "The thing as well with him is that he scored 13 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances last season. [Omar] Marmoush left in December and had 15. "That says to me as a striker he should be scoring more at that level. I think like Gyokeres, he has got such great ability and physicality, I think he will get 15 goals." Neville subsequently claimed a haul of between "10 or 13" goals would represent success for Sesko, assuming Mbeumo and Cunha contribute the remaining 25 goals between them. Yet Wright challenged the former United skipper's assessment, drawing comparisons with the significantly higher expectations he'd established for Gyokeres. The Arsenal legend said: "What if Sesko only scored 10? "Seriously, what if he only got 10. You just turned your nose up when I mentioned Gyokeres potentially only getting 10 and now you're thinking about Sesko only getting 10." Despite Neville highlighting Gyokeres is more experienced than Sesko, Wright wouldn't allow him to escape scrutiny. The former England defender then attempted to construct an argument by saying: "I think 10..." before finding himself rendered speechless by his own contemplations. Whilst Wright turned towards Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott and Roy Keane, Neville said: "The reason I am stuttering is because I'm wondering how Cunha and Mbeumo are going to do. If he scores 10 and the others can chip in with 12 a piece, I would still say 35 from the three of them is massive." When Wright pressed him further regarding his suggestion 10 goals for Gyokeres would fall well short, Neville replied: "The reason I said that is because I think Arsenal will create so many more chances. They will have so much more play. "They are a much better team. He (Gyokeres) is going to be in a better team. He's going to get more chances. Sesko is not going to get as many chances as Gyokeres. That is where I would be at with it."
