The Gateway Family YMCA is inviting the community to its Membership Madness open house from March 27 through 30.
The event, which will be held at YMCA branches in Elizabeth, Rahway and Union, will feature a variety of activities including swimming, basketball, pickleball, soccer, group exercise and water exercise programs.
In addition to the open house, the YMCA is offering a special membership promotion. New members who join online at www.tgfymca.org/join-the-Y or in person at a YMCA branch from March 27 to 30 will have the $0 joiner fee waived by using the code MA24.
“Social activities are so important for your well-being. As a nonprofit community organization dedicated to strengthening community, the Y is the perfect avenue to share healthy activities with loved ones, create lasting memories and build lifestyle changes to increase health,” said Melynda A. Disla, president and CEO of The Gateway Family YMCA.
The Gateway Family YMCA has been serving the community since 1900, providing traditional programs like swimming lessons, summer camp and child care, as well as community services, housing and social services, drowning prevention, teen mentorship and STEAM initiatives. The Y aims to provide a safe and supportive environment to inspire everyone to find balance in spirit, mind and body, both in person and virtually.
“We are here to meet the unique needs of our community, every day,” added Rodger Koerber, EVP and chief operating officer. “Our goal is to ensure that health and wellness become an easy and fun part of everyday lives.”
For those who prefer to participate from home, the YMCA is also offering a Virtual Group Exercise Open House with registration available online at www.tgfymca.org. Throughout Membership Madness, the Y will be sharing community health and safety information on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/GatewayFamilyYMCA, highlighting healthy family tips, nutritious recipes and exercise recommendations.
