@Source: news18.com
George Clooney unveiled his new hair colour in New York City on Tuesday while meeting fans after a preview of his upcoming Broadway show, Good Night and Good Luck. The actor, who has long been known for his signature silver hair, has dyed it brown for his role as Fred Friendly in the play, which he also co-wrote and directed. The 63-year-old was seen signing autographs and taking photos with fans outside the venue, sporting his fresh brunette look. Clooney kept it casual in a black zip-up jacket, khaki pants, and white Adidas sneakers with black stripes. The change comes just weeks after Clooney admitted that his wife, Amal Clooney, wasn’t thrilled about his decision to dye his hair. “My wife is going to hate it because nothing makes you look older than when an older guy dyes his hair,” he told The New York Times. Wow, George Clooney’s bold brunet look is a stunner—loving the vibe with Amal! Can’t wait for his Good Night, and Good Luck Broadway debut. #GeorgeClooney #HollywoodGlam pic.twitter.com/2X7KTDjQsq — StockScopeX (@stockscopex) March 13, 2025 He also joked that his and Amal’s 7-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, would find his transformation hilarious. “My kids are going to just laugh at me nonstop,” he added. Clooney’s transformation isn’t limited to his hair. To fully embody Friendly, a journalist and former CBS News president known for his chain-smoking habit, Clooney also took up smoking for the role. “I had to get better at inhaling,” the ER alum admitted. “I go outside so the kids don’t see and smoke a little bit.” However, Clooney plans to switch to herbal cigarettes once the play officially opens on April 3. Good Night and Good Luck marks Clooney’s Broadway debut and is based on the 2005 film of the same name, which he also directed and co-wrote. The story follows broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow and his battle against Senator Joseph McCarthy during the Red Scare. While Clooney is no stranger to dramatic transformations for his roles, this latest change has already sparked buzz—both at home and among fans.
