Geri Horner has promised that the full Spice Girls line-up will one day give the British public the reunion we’ve been waiting for.
The singer-songwriter and popstar extraordinaire, 52, joined the legendary girl group when they formed in 1994 and took the world by storm in the second half of the 90s.
Scoring nine number ones between 1996 and 2000 (including six number ones in a row), the Spice Girls became one of the biggest selling pop acts of all time.
Geri – who took on the character of Ginger Spice in the quintet – shockingly left the group in 1998 before their eventual split two years later, but did join them for their reunions in 2007 and 2012.
However, the full line-up of Geri, Melanie C, Mel B, Victoria Beckham, and Emma Bunton – hasn’t performed together since the closing ceremony of the London Olympics.
With the 30th anniversary of debut single Wannabe coming next year, fans have been hopeful that Ginger, Sporty, Scary, Posh, and Baby Spice will reunite to mark the occasion.

And Geri has given the best indication yet that long-time fans will be about to get exactly what they want, telling The Sunday Times that ‘there will be something’ coming.
‘We love each other. I love them, I care about them, and we want the best for each other. We shared something so monumental. We’ve always believed in each other, had trust in each other, which is beautiful.’
She then teased that ‘there will be something’ coming in the future from the girl group who became synonymous with the phrase ‘girl power’ and won five Brit Awards.
‘My hope is we come back together as a collective. It’s more respectful to come as one, so we’ll come as one,’ adding that the five of them do have a WhatsApp group chat.

In fact, she continued: ‘I’m smiling because I got a text from Mel C just this morning. She’s doing her thing out in Australia.’
The children’s author and mum-of-two was the first to leave the Spice Girls, citing exhaustion and creative differences, and embarked on a solo career in the late 90s and early 2000s.
She scored four number ones – all consecutive – between 1999 and 2001 and notched another four top ten hits in addition, with her last hit coming in 2004.

Geri remains the most successful of the Spice Girls from a solo perspective, with her four number ones beating Mel C’s two, Emma’s one, Mel B’s one, and Victoria’s zero.
The group did reunite in 2007, releasing the single Headlines, but the single performed way under expectations, becoming the only Spice Girls single not to make the UK top 10.
Geri’s comments come hot on the heels of Mel C saying she’s ready for a Spice Girls reunion in the near future, adding: ‘We now are getting together because we know if we’re going to do anything, we have to start planning.’
‘We have to start making the plans right now and putting them into action. So fingers crossed. I think me and Mel B are probably going to be going in there all guns blazing.’
