Sprinter, Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, has been named Male Athlete of the Year at the 2025 Stampede of Champions, for his performances for the University of South Florida.
The Ghanaian also earned the Top Individual Performance for last year’s marks that qualified him for the Paris Olympics.
Additionally, Saminu has shattered multiple indoor and outdoor records since joining the USF track team and was recently named a First Team All-American in the 60m dash during the indoor season this year.
He also clocked a wind assisted 9.87w in the 100-meter earlier this month — the fastest time in the NCAA this season and a new program record.
The 27 year old looks on course to break the 10 second barrier with his impressive start to the outdoor season.
