Holy Angels continued its march of excellence after winning its fourth consecutive Bergen County Championship, shooting a 306 to win by 41 strokes at Rockleigh Golf Course in Rockleigh.
While the team remained the same, the name on the individual award changed as freshman Ava Bang of Holy Angels shot 2-over-par 74 to unseat her teammate and back-to-back defending champion Angelina Kim by two strokes.
Bang was 3-over through her first six holes, but bounced back by birdieing the final two holes of her front nine. Despite bogeying her 14th and 16th holes, Bang ended the day on a high note with a birdie.
Kim tied fellow Angel Inha Jun and Bergen Tech’s Isabella Crespo with a 76, but the two-time defending champion took second on a match of cards. Jun placed third while Crespo was fourth.
All five of Holy Angels’ golfers finished in the top 10 as Eleanor Lim took seventh on a match of cards with an 80. Olivia Lee was 10th with an 82.
Bergen Tech had a strong showing as it finished in second place with a 347. Junior Olivia Pak rounded out the top five on the individual side with a 77.
Ridgewood came in third with a 358, led by senior Julia Vizanko who was eighth on a match of cards with an 80.
Ramapo finished fourth with a 361, and junior Skylar Lee placed ninth on a match of cards with an 80.
