It was deja vu for Holy Angels as it won its second straight Big North Conference Championship by shooting a 289, led by senior Inha Jun, who shot 1-over par 71 to win her second straight individual title at Valley Brook Golf Course in River Vale.
It was a come-from-behind effort from Jun as her teammate, Olivia Lee, and Passaic Tech’s Sofia Myka Pangan were tied at 2-under after their 12th holes, while Jun was even-par.
Jun stepped up to the final hole tied with Lee at 1-over, but the defending champion remained calm and hit a par while her counterpart bogeyed. Jun was steady down the stretch as she parred her final five holes.
Four of the Angels’ five golfers finished in the top five as Angelina Kim and Ava Bang tied for fourth with a 73. Sophomore Mikhayla Herrera was 16th with an 82.
Ridgewood came in second with a 327, led by sophomore Drea Minetti, who tied for 10th with a 78.
Senior Bella Crespo led Bergen Tech to a third-place finish (330) by shooting a 76 to tie for eighth.
Junior Skylar Lee shot a 76 to lead Ramapo to a fourth-place finish, while Old Tappan placed fifth with a 343. Freshman Romy Kim led Old Tappan with a 75.
