One year after finishing in fourth place of the Lady Bombers Tee-Off Classic, Princeton climbed all the way up to the top spot by shooting a 225 at The Meadows at Middlesex in Plainsboro.
This year’s tournament acted as a bit of redemption for senior Jacqueline Zang of Princeton, as she shot even-par 70 to win the individual title by one stroke. She finished second to South Brunswick’s Vidhi Lakhawala last season.
It was a race that came down to the wire between Zang and Westfield’s Lily Patel after Patel birdied the 17th hole to tie things up at even-par. The day belonged to Zang though as she parred the final hole while Patel hit a bogey.
Princeton had a strong performance from junior Kyuyoung Chung who finished third with a 75. Junior Alice Ye placed seventh on a match of cards with an 80.
Defending champion Bridgewater-Raritan came in second place with a 248, led by junior Ciara Decarlo who was fourth on a match of cards with a 77.
Junior Dasha Patel led East Brunswick (253) to a third-place finish, shooting an 80 to place eighth on a match of cards.
J.P. Stevens came in fourth with junior Pooja Jade scoring an 82 to take 10th on a match of cards. Sophomore Riya Lakhihal was 11th with an 83.
West Windsor-Plainsboro South rounded out the top five by shooting a 264. It was led by sophomore Yeshika Bhansali who placed 13th on a match of cards with an 84.
