Glamorous WAG shocks Perth high society by revealing her 10-year marriage to ex-Premier League star is OVER... after a single question about her husband set her off

The wife of an Australian former Premier League star has revealed that their decade-long marriage is over - in the most blunt and unexpected way imaginable. Dani Rose Jones, a former model and physiotherapist, married former Liverpool and Ajax goalkeeper Brad Jones in July 2015. Since returning to Perth in 2021 after Brad's international career ended, Dani has built a successful second career as a real estate agent with WHITEFOX Perth in Subiaco. But now Dani - who is something of a socialite in the city's ritzy western suburbs - has made the stunning announcement that she and Brad have split up. And it wasn't a carefully worded Instagram statement or a drop to the local paper. Instead, she offered a blunt, two-word reply to a soccer fan who had commented on her personal Instagram account with a rude question about her husband. She didn't answer the fan's question, instead correcting him on their marital status, simply responding: 'Ex-husband.' This marks the first time Dani has publicly acknowledged the end of her marriage, which until now has gone unreported. It's unclear when the Joneses split or what caused their break-up. Back in May 2023, Dani paid an emotional tribute to Brad as he retired from soccer, having capped off his career as a goalkeeper with a two-year spell at Perth Glory. 'Proud of everything you've achieved @Brad_Jones1 it's been a privilege to be on this journey with you,' she wrote at the time. But her latest response - coupled with her solo outing at the Saba Rose Ball - all but confirms their marriage is over. Further hinting at the split, the Joneses also listed their home for sale in the riverside suburb of Applecross in October 2024. The pair had purchased the Duncraig Road property in 2020 for $3.9million and sold it for $6million earlier this year. At the time, Dani said the property had been a 'cherished space for creating memories' but it was time to move on. The couple first met in the UK during Brad's playing days for Liverpool. They tied the knot in July 2015 with a fairytale ceremony at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire, England, surrounded by friends, family and teammates. Their wedding was both glamorous and deeply emotional. Brad's six-year-old son Luca from his previous relationship - who died from leukaemia in 2011 - was honoured throughout the day. Dani carried a bouquet adorned with a crystal charm featuring Luca's photo, ensuring he was close to her heart. The couple lit six candles in his memory as a gospel choir performed Beyoncé's Halo. 'Although Luca is no longer here, he will always be a huge part of our family,' Dani said at the time. Brad had been with the Socceroos preparing for the 2010 World Cup when they received the devastating news about his boy's diagnosis. Then-Socceroos captain Lucas Neill said the tragedy rocked the Australian squad. 'We consider ourselves a family and therefore the news that we heard was an extended part of this family. It was devastating,' Neill said. 'It hit all the boys for six, as we say in Australia, it took us all back.' Then-Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek broke the news to Australian media at the team's training camp near Johannesburg. 'We decided to let him go to his family and let him stay there as long as he likes,' he said. 'We expect him not to come back, that says enough about the seriousness of the matter.' It was in 2010 when Jones also made the move to one of the world's most famous soccer clubs, Liverpool. 'Coming here was the biggest move I could have wished for,' Jones said as he arrived at Liverpool's training ground to play for the Reds. 'Coming to the team I supported from four or five years old, when I got my first kit sent to me in Perth. 'At the same time, in my personal life, we were… a shambles. I'd just left the World Cup before it had begun because we'd found out Luca was ill. 'We didn't know exactly what was happening or how it happened, what the chances were. 'So you have one bit of your life on a massive high and another that's horrendous. That's where we were. It's hard.' Luca succumbed to the disease after an 18-month battle in November 2011. Liverpool Football Club issued a statement saying: 'The thoughts of everybody at LFC are with Brad, his partner Dani, and their family and friends at this very sad time.' Following the tragedy, the couple have had three children together: a son born in 2012, followed by a daughter in 2014, and a second son in 2019. Brad, 42, hung up the gloves after more than two decades at the top level, including a premiership with Feyenoord. He also played professionally in Saudi Arabia before settling back home in Australia, where he is now on the coaching staff at Perth Glory. Meanwhile, Dani quickly carved out a name for herself in Perth’s property market. After years living abroad during husband Brad’s soccer career, she has already handled multimillion-dollar real estate sales. Known for her polished style and client-first approach, she’s become a familiar face in high-end real estate circles. Away from work, Dani has also used her profile to support local causes, recently helping raise funds for the Kids Cancer Support Group.
