'Go F**k Youselves:' PGA Tour Pro Fires Back amid Houston Open Controversy
@Source: newsweek.com
Alejandro Tosti did not react well to the controversy he was involved in during the final round of the Texas Children's Houston Open. The Argentine fired back and made sure to show his anger with the situation.The subject of his fury were comments made by Jim "Bones" MacKay, who was acting as an on-course reporter for the Golf Channel. According to the legendary caddie, Tosti not only protested the delay that occurred on the eighth hole, but then began deliberately slowing the pace of play himself.Tosti's response came in a post on social networking site X, responding to a post on the subject by Golf Channel reporter Brentley Romine."Playing at my own pace... omg," Tosti posted. "Because I took a piss on the restroom and prepared myself a drink I am 'slow playing and trying to throw off my playing partners'.... Go f**k youself failures.""Bones" MacKay also reported that Tosti had a nasty exchange with the third member of the group, Ryan Fox, on the first hole. The Argentine did not forget to respond to this comment as well."Btw stop the fake news idiots. There was no confrontation with Fox on the 1st hole," he wrote.The 28-year-old Argentina native deleted the post about an hour later. However, screenshots were obtained and published by Golf Digest.Tosti posted on the subject again, this time with less risqué language:"Bones talking sh*t for the fans. Saying l am walking 50 yards behind and 'trying to slow playing my partner.' The part you don't see is that l used the restroom and prepared myself a drink," Tosti wrote.It all started when his group mate Min Woo Lee sent his tee shot into the trees on the eighth hole, causing a major delay for the group. According to some reports, it took the trio more than half an hour to finish the hole.However, other reports, particularly from social media users, suggested that the group had also been delayed due to the slow play of the groups ahead of them.Min Woo Lee added a touch of humor to the situation when, on the 18th hole, he attempted to use the AimPoint technique to line up his eight-inch putt to clinch victory. After holing his putt, the Australian was hugged and congratulated by Tosti.The Argentine had started the round in second place, but finished tied for fifth with a final round of 68.More Golf: Min Woo Lee's 'Controversial' Pattern That Has Led to Houston Open Lead
