@Source: nationnews.com
Young footballers across the island lit up the Barbados Football Association’s Youth Football Tournament last Saturday with a flurry of goals, spirited comebacks, and dominant displays across the Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 divisions. Matches were staged at several locations across St Michael—including Parkinson Field and Parkinson Community Centre, Blenheim “A” and “B”, the Lumber Company in Bush Hall, and the BFA Technical Centre (Wildey Turf and Phillip Blagrove Training Pitch). Games were also hosted at the Speightstown Playing Field in St Peter. In the Under-13 section, Pinelands delivered the most emphatic performance of the day, hammering RF Prime 9–2. Ratevion Marques was in unstoppable form, scoring five times while teammates Caleb Callender, Tavae Morris, Jakarri Waterman, and Neymar Alleyne added their names to the scoresheet. Jasiah Layne and Antonio Marshall netted for RF Prime. Kickstart Premier eased past St. Philip Academy 4–0, with early goals from Damari Haynes and Milan Maynard setting the tone. Zavier Barker and Aaiden Lythcott rounded off the comfortable win. Elsewhere, Potential Ballers and Kickstart Elite played to an entertaining 2–2 draw. Nhakente Alleyne gave Ballers the lead in the 6th minute, but Kickstart responded through Aiden Harris and Warren Lythcott. Rayuelme Bartholemew equalised late to secure a point. Whitehall Academy also impressed, defeating United Stars Alliance 4–1 behind Zion Green’s early opener and a brace from Giovonni Greaves. Meanwhile, Pro Shottas thumped Technique FC 7–3, with Aidon Knight and Aaron Gill netting twice each in a goal-laden affair. National Sports Council (NSC) were 8–2 winners over Mavericks, as Kevon Bishop’s hat-trick headlined a complete attacking display. In the Under-15 category, Mavericks overwhelmed Evans Maughan Academy 18–0 in a record-breaking rout. Keyari Neptune struck six times, Rajari Rollins added four, and ten different players contributed in the emphatic win. Kickstart Premier were similarly ruthless, brushing aside Barbados Soccer Academy 9–0, with Dinniko Jordan netting a second-half hat-trick and Seth Goodridge scoring twice. There were also strong wins for FM Four Pillars, who beat Paradise 7–0, and Eden Stars, who blanked Notre Dame 5–0 behind a hat-trick from Amari Small. Technique FC edged Potential Ballers 2–1, courtesy of a Rasheed Hodge-Cave double, and Gall Hill secured a 2–0 win over NSC, with goals from Tyniko Bradshaw and Reuel Holder. In the Under-17 division, Paradise overwhelmed Deacons 6–0, with Shakori Scott notching a hat-trick. Barbados Soccer Academy were 4–0 winners over Mavericks Fire, led by Dvonte Mayers’ treble. Gall Hill and Atlas FC played out a competitive 2–2 draw, while Mavericks Heat edged FM Four Pillars 3–2, thanks to early goals from Deandre Browne and Roniko Harding. Technique claimed a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Kickstart Rush, with Xavier Bayne sealing the points with two second-half strikes. The Barbados Football Association announced last week that the Under-9 and Under-11 competitions will kick off this week, while the Under-16 girls’ tournament is set to follow, with the 2025 BFA Youth Football Tournament slated to run until November.
