Drinking on the golf course isn't exactly uncommon - both among amateurs and PGA Tour pros in years past.
However, German golfer Marcel Siem may have had a bit too much to drink when he took part in the Pro-Am at Pebble Beach in 2015.
But that hardly hindered his performance, with Siem coming just a single stroke away from breaking the course record at the iconic golf track.
Siem is best known for his accomplishments on the European Tour - now the DP World Tour - where he won eight events, including the BMW Masters.
But of the 35 PGA Tour events he has competed in since 2004, one of his best performances came at the 2015 Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
After missing the cut at the same tournament the year prior, Siem and his caddy decided to 'change the system' and got plastered the night before.

German Marcel Siem shared a story of being drunk but pulling out a strong Pebble Beach performance in 2015
Siem stayed out until 6:00am drinking with his caddie in 2015 before teeing off at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am two hours later and carding a miraculous 63 at the legendary course
Siem's playing partner, Kelly Slater (L) recalled the German's heroics despite his vomiting
Siem said that he's had 'three course records in my life, completely hammered without sleep.' That's not technically true, as he came a stroke shy of tying the record at Pebble Beach.
He continued: 'Three-putted 18 to shoot... 62 [actually, 63] and I didn't even know about it.'
All that came after a long night where Siem and his caddy over-indulged with a boozy combination of multiple Long Island Iced Teas, 'five pints', before 'end[ing] up with champagne, which was totally weird.'
The next morning was a rough one for Siem, who had an 8:00am tee time after being on a drinking session until 6:00am.
Siem admitted to being in rough shape and vomiting 'twice' that round. In spite of this, he ended up shooting a third round 63 - shooting him up the leaderboard after carding seven birdies and an eagle while never recording anything worse than par.
But he said that he had fun because he was paired with surfing legend Kelly Slater.
While Siem was adamant that Slater 'didn't know' how hammered he was until he told the surfer after the round, the video got Slater's attention.
The surfer commented, 'Haha. You told me during the round. I think you forgot!'
Slater also added a tidbit about that famous 63 round: 'He also forgot to mention he didn't make a birdie after 13 or 14 and was on 59 watch for half the round. Flopped an eagle in from deep rough on 6. From memory he was maybe 6 under through 7. A wild round.'
