Gorka Marquez has quickly sparked some interest among his Strictly Come Dancing co-stars as his next move away from the iconic ballroom was revealed. The dancer will soon be swapping his dancing shoes for a pair of football boots as he's set to make his debut at Soccer Aid for UNICEF this summer. It has been announced that the charity football match will be returning to Greater Manchester. It is set to take place on Sunday, June 15, and Manchester United's beloved home of Old Trafford with a number of famous faces already lined up to take part, including Gorka. The Spanish star will be lining up as a player for the World XI, while his fiancee Gemma Atkinson is set to support the England team by taking on an ambassador role. Speaking about making his Soccer Aid debut, Gorka said: "I am swapping my dancing shoes for my football boots! Let's hope I score a ten on matchday! I have wanted to play in Soccer Aid for years now but we've never been able to make it work with my dance commitments. "When the opportunity came up this year I snapped their hand off! I’ve been talking about it everyday at home - I think Gemma and the kids are bored of it! Gemma is a lifelong Manchester Utd fan, and with the game at Old Trafford - I don't know who is more excited, her or me!" He also added: "It will be an amazing family day out, raising money for UNICEF to help children across the world. The game is on Sunday 15th June - Father's Day! - so please buy your tickets today. Now for the debate on which kit our children will wear - England or the World XI!" Gorka's signing was also confirmed on Socccer Aid's Instagram page. The 34-year-old was seen in his World XI kit in the clip while the caption read: "Soccer Aid for UNICEF, are you ready? I can’t wait to represent the World XI at this year’s game in Manchester! See you on Sunday 15th June!" And his Strictly co-stars were quick to respond and they seemingly had a very specific request for her footballing debut. Montell Douglas said: "Let's go Gorkaaaa. If the pants don't make an appearance on pitch (you know what I'm talking about) we'll all be disappointed," to which Gorka replied: "the black or the pink ones." Kai Widdrington, meanwhile, cheekily reponded: "Topless celebrations only," alognside a winking face and crying laughing face emojis. Meanwhile, Lauren Oakley cheered: "Yessss Gorks!" as did Angela Scanlan who commented: "G’wan Gorka." Neil Jones also replied: "Go on gorks," and Vito Coppola added: "Yesssss."
