No fewer than twenty one football teams from across Nigeria are set to compete for medals and trophies in the fourth edition of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State under 16 football championship tagged “ The 4th edition of Pastor Umo Eno Arise U16 Easter Unity Cup 2025. This follows the draws conducted at the Uyo Township stadium with the kick off slated for today at the same venue. According to the fixtures, Mkpat Einin Local Government Area will play Solo Wonders FA of Aba, Abia State in the opening match by 3:pm after a closing ceremony which will host all sports stakeholders and top government signatories. Addressing the teams, before the draws, the tournament coordinator, Hon. John Ekpenyong said everything has been put in place to ensure a successful tournament beside the national and international scouts that will be on ground to pick the best legs for a tour of Europe. Ekpenyong hinted that the interest from other states to compete in this year’s Arise U16 Easter Unity Cup 2025 was due to the performance of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State and development in sports as well as the numerous stars that are making Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria proud from the first, second and third edition.
