Guinness World Records Questions: 'Will Joe Root Break Sachin Tendulkar's Record?'
@Source: news18.com
A historic day unfolded at Old Trafford as the cricketing world bowed down to Joe Root. The former England captain walked out as his country’s greatest Test cricketer with a standing ovation from the Old Trafford crowd. Root was on a mountain of records after scoring 150, off 248 deliveries, with 14 boundaries. But the one that made him look a legend was becoming the second-highest run-getter, surpassing the likes of Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis and Ricky Ponting.
Root notched up his 38th Test century and equalled Kumara Sangakkara’s tally, sharing the spot of 4th spot on the list of most hundred in the longest format.
People from the cricket fraternity went short of words to praise Root. Still, they showered praise on the England batter, completely mesmerised by what he pulled off in Manchester.

Ravindra Jadeja Dismisses Joe Root
Root’s stubborn knock finally came to an end after tea, in the third session, when Ravindra Jadeja dragged him out of his crease. Right after the drinks, Jadeja bowled the first ball of the 120th over to lure Root for a drive. Rookie Dhruv Jurel didn’t make any mistakes this time and whips off the bails in time.
