Harry Kane has never been closer to achieving the holy grail of individual accolades in football, the Ballon d’Or.

But according to Kane himself, winning the award is not just about scoring goals; it’s about winning the biggest trophies.
Kane reveals Ballon d’Or strategy
Speaking in a recent interview, Kane addressed the growing buzz around his Ballon d’Or chances with a, grounded response.
The England captain said, “It comes down to who wins the biggest trophies this season. All this talk is pointless until we hit May and then the Club World Cup rolls around.”
While others may get lost in personal stats or viral moments, Kane is zeroed in on team glory, and rightly so.
Bayern Munich currently leads the Bundesliga with a six-point cushion over Bayer Leverkusen, making the domestic crown very much within reach.
Plus, they’re alive and well in the Champions League, having booked their place in the quarter-finals against Inter, and if Bayern goes all the way, and Kane plays his part, the narrative could shift squarely in his favour.
Kane looking to beat top names to award
Of course, Kane’s path to the Ballon d’Or won’t be a walk in the park. The competition is elite, with Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah, and Raphinha all having standout campaigns and will be in the conversation when voting time comes.
Mbappe has been immense as Real Madrid chase a historic treble, while Salah continues to smash records in the Premier League.
Brazilian star Raphinha has also spearheaded Barcelona’s resurgence under Hansi Flick with 27 goals and 19 assists in all competitions this season and is among the favourites for the award.
However, Kane is not backing down despite the competition and winning the first piece of silverware in his career could give him the boost he needs to get past the illustrious list of contenders.
Should Bayern clinch the Bundesliga and Champions League titles, Kane could very well find himself holding the golden trophy.
