Harry Potter fans have taken a look at some of the cast members when they were filming the hit movie series compared to now and all said the same thing. Today (Friday, May 2) marks International Harry Potter Day, founded by David Cameron , the Prime Minister at the time in 2012. It was declared an official international holiday to honour the work of J.K. Rowling , the author of the Harry Potter books which were later adapted into movies, starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001. As it is International Harry Potter Day, it is fitting to look back at some of the stars of the films . A TikTok account called Harry Potter Lore posted a video on the platform featuring Jamie Waylett (Vincent Crabbe), Josh Herdman (Gregory Goyle), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory). But it was one cast member that really caught people's attention. Many fans in the comment section thought Waylett now looks like American rapper and singer Post Malone. One fan said: “First dude turned into Post Malone.” Another humorously asked: “Since when was Post Malone in Harry Potter?” A third echoed: “Why does Crabbe look like Post Malone now?” A fourth commented: “Young Post Malone in Harry Potter?” A fifth chimed in: “The first one became Post Malone?” The TikTok clip includes a picture of Waylett, now 35-years-old, dressed in his Hogwarts uniform in 2003. In the Harry Potter series he played Crabbe, son of a Death Eater and a member of Slytherin House who was part of Draco Malfoy’s gang. His role in Harry Potter is his only film role to date and he featured in six of the eight movies. Despite having the world at his feet, his life took a dark turn that seems to have put a halt to his acting career. In 2009, he lost his role in the cult franchise after he was caught growing cannabis plants in his home. He was sentenced to 120 hours community service and it marked the beginning of the end of his time on screen. Worse was still to come. He was jailed for two years in 2012 after being found guilty of violent disorder when he swigged from a bottle of Champagne stolen during the London riots. He was pictured holding a petrol bomb, though he was cleared of intending to destroy or damage property. In recent times, however, Jamie has taken steps towards rebuilding his life. He has been spotted offering personal video messages on the popular celebrity website, Cameo, for fans and loved ones.
