Harry Skelton has emerged as one of the UK’s top jockeys in tandem with his trainer brother Dan over the last decade. The pair come from a family of horse lovers. Their dad, Nick, won gold in the team jumping event for Team GB at the 2012 London Olympics and then took individual gold in Rio four years later. Harry’s career took off when Dan started out on his own in 2013, having been assistant to legendary handler Paul Nicholls. The siblings have enjoyed many successes together, with Harry becoming Champion Jockey in 2020/21. The 35-year-old enjoyed a fabulous 2024 Cheltenham Festival with four winners. That took his overall number of Festival winners to nine. Ahead of the 2025 National Hunt showpiece, here’s the lowdown on Skelton’s net worth, marriage to a fellow jockey and his iconic celebration… What is Harry Skelton’s net worth? According to CompanyCheck, the company registered in Skelton’s name had a net worth of almost £730,000 last year. The 35-year-old’s career winnings stand at around £8million. Who is Harry Skelton married to? Skelton got hitched to fellow jockey Bridget Andrews, 32, in 2019, with the pair often racing against each other. The pair live in Warwickshire and welcomed their first child, Rory, into the world in April last year. Speaking about their relationship, Skelton told Over The Stable Door last year: “Before having a baby, we obviously did not always ride in the same races but we both wanted to achieve as much as we could. It’s a good atmosphere to be in.” What is Harry Skelton’s iconic celebration? Skelton raised eyebrows with his ‘airplane’ celebration as he won the Becher Chase on Ashtown Lad at Aintree in 2022. As he crossed the line, Skelton stood up in the saddle with his arms out and head down. Asked to explain the gesture, he admitted to Sky Sports: “I haven’t got a clue, to be honest. I was just enjoying myself, probably a bit too much. “Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, you do silly things. I gave the horse a big tap. He was absolutely brilliant for me all the way round. When we crossed the line, it was a hell of a buzz. “Some people might say, ‘Jesus, what is he doing?’ But what people forget is what goes into that moment, the time and effort. A lot of people can enjoy it with us. We’ve got a fantastic team at home. “Dan always watches the races from Aintree from the inside of the course and when I crossed the line, I heard him. It means an awful lot to win these big races.” It has since become the jockey's go-to celebration in big races, and he'll be hoping to wheel it out once again this week at Prestbury Park.
