SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- A Jewish-owned business in San Jose was vandalized Monday night, with hateful imagery spray-painted on the building and work vehicles. It is being investigated by police as a targeted hate crime. "They broke the windows, they broke side mirrors and swastikas and KKK on the door," HVAC & Insulation Gurus owner Lior Zeevi said. "It's very sad and very disappointing that's to do these kind of bad things. It makes no sense - this kind of hate." Zeevi could not believe was he saw when he arrived at his business Tuesday morning. His work vehicles covered in hateful graffiti as glass and broken car parts were on the floor. "Three guys came in and started spraying right away," Zeevi said. "You can see they are checking which vehicles have our stickers on it - so they targeted us, clearly. I just think that it was weak people that had nothing better to do." We were there as San Jose police were on scene, the vandalism is being investigated as a hate crime. Rabbi Mendel Weinfeld was sad to see such hate so close to home. "It's very sad to see this, just for being Jewish," Weinfeld said. "This is a business who actually supports the community and does a lot for the community. We await the day that such things will never happen. We await the day of just goodness and kindness in the world." "We've had such things throughout our history - we've had so much hate, and this is resilience Jewish people, where we come out of it stronger," Weinfeld said. "Our only response to hate is to do more light, to do more goodness, more kindness." Zeevi was on his way to drop off his kids at school when he got the news Tuesday morning. He says he will use this incident as a teachable moment for them. "I will definitely talk to them about it," Zeevi said. "I will explain to them that there is some people that don't like us, but we don't need to be afraid of them. And, like the Rabbi said, said we need to fight the darkness with light."
