HCA developments, a wake-up call, says general secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) general secretary Dharam Guruva Reddy, who moved the Court for proceedings against the top brass of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) on some key subjects, which led to the eventual arrest of some of them, said the developments should serve as a wake-up call that accountability must prevail in publicly accountable organisations.
“The TCA thanks the State Government, the Vigilance and Enforcement, and the CID for a thorough professional approach and execution of the task to capture evidential data and implement the required action,” Guruva Reddy said in a statement on Thursday.
“For years, TCA has called for transparency, fairness, and compliance with both the BCCI directives and the Court orders. We engaged with HCA through meetings and constructive dialogue, presenting a roadmap for grassroots development and integrity in cricket administration,” the TCA official said.
“But, the HCA chose to ignore not only our efforts but also interim court orders, acting with impunity and reversing decisions within days—an indication of internal chaos and disregard for due process,” Guruva Reddy said.
“These arrests are not the end; they are just the beginning,” he said.
“Supreme Court-appointed Justice L. Nageswara Rao’s report must be implemented with finer amendments to cater to Districts cricket outside Hyderabad through TCA as envisaged by the BCCI. The cricketers in Telangana should get fair selection and world-class infrastructure,” the TCA official added.
