'He can't' - Chelsea told to activate Jadon Sancho transfer U-turn amid Manchester United return

Chelsea have been urged to consider sanctioning a U-turn on their agreement with Manchester United for Jadon Sancho following Sunday's Premier League defeat to Arsenal. The United loanee joined the Blues on loan for the season in the summer with the deal set to become permanent at the end of the season. It's suggested a fee between £22million and £25million will be paid if Chelsea finish 14th or higher - they are currently fourth. Recent reports have suggested that Enzo Maresca's men could back out of the proposal, but only if a significant fee is paid to United. Calls for Chelsea to sanction that agreement have got louder in recent weeks, more noticeably following the 1-0 loss to Arsenal. Mikel Merino's first-half header was the difference at the Emirates Stadium in a lacklustre display by Chelsea. The defeat also stretched Sancho's run without a goal to 18 games despite an encouraging start to life in the capital. Following Sancho's flat display at the Emirates Stadium, former Chelsea defender Gallas has told his team to consider Sancho's future amid a possible option to return him to United. "That player has talent," he told Stadium Astro. "He's a talented player, everybody knows this, but we don't know why he can't perform and can't show what he can do. "At Dortmund, he was magnificent. At Manchester United it didn't work well for him. He came to Chelsea and at the beginning we saw that Sancho from Dortmund, but then he disappeared. "I don’t know what the problem is, but at the moment he can’t stay at Chelsea because he has to do more. When you play in the Premier League you have to play every game at the highest level. It’s not easy, but you can’t just play well for a few games and then chill out."
