Soha Ali Khan has come back with the much-anticipated horror thriller Chhorii 2, alongside Nushrratt Bharuccha. The actress is making considerable waves on social media with her stellar performance as the antagonist. Portraying the role of Daasi Maa, Soha has won over the audience and fans alike. Meanwhile, during a recent interview, the actress opened up about her father Mansoor Ali Khan’s shocking reaction when she was born. She revealed how Mansoor Ali Khan had expected her to be a boy. In an exclusive Interview with News18, Soha Ali Khan revealed that her father was beaming in excitement as he thought it was a boy. She claimed that his father ran through the hospital corridors shouting about making ‘his boy’ a fast bowler. The 46-year-old actress stated, “When I was born, I think my father was screaming in the corridors, ‘We’ll make him a fast bowler.’ But later, when it was discovered that it was a girl, there weren’t many opportunities for girls in cricket, unlike today. Perhaps they would’ve invested in me as a bowler then.” Soha further admitted that without pursuing cricket as a career and never formally being trained, she has always had good reflexes. However, the actress developed an interest in badminton as a sport. The Chhorii 2 actress further claimed that fitness has always been a priority in the Pataudi household. Soha stated that maintaining physical fitness is more about self-reliance than looks, which is something she and her husband, Kunal Kemmu, wish to instil in their daughter Inaaya from an early age. Soha said, “Often, we want our girls to be good and our boys to be strong. But we want her to be physically strong so that she doesn’t feel the need for someone else to protect her. Even to the point that if someone makes her feel unsafe, she should feel, ‘I have the strength to fight back.’ Even though we may be physically the weaker sex — and that’s why we become soft targets in so many ways — the idea is to be mentally strong as well.” Directed by Vishal Furia, Chhorii 2 was released on April 11 on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. Alongside Soha Ali Khan, the film also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha, Gashmeer Mahajani and Saurabh Goyal in key roles.
