Head of Pre-University Education to QNA: QF Plays Vital Role in Shaping Learning Environment Rooted in Diversity and Technology

Doha, June 01 (QNA) - President of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), Abeer Al Khalifa, reaffirmed the Foundation's commitment to providing inclusive, high-quality education that recognizes individual differences and fosters both academic and personal growth.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Khalifa emphasized the important role QF plays in cultivating a learning environment grounded in diversity, technology, and national identity, highlighting the strength of its partnership with parents.
Speaking on the occasion of a new graduating class, she expressed pride in the tangible impact the QF's pre-university education system has had in shaping generations capable of driving change and leading the future.
She sated that pre-university education is the cornerstone of building future-ready generations, guided by this vision, adding that they have developed a holistic educational model that nurtures students' academic, personal, and ethical growth - empowering them to become independent thinkers, socially responsible individuals, and effective decision-makers in a rapidly changing world. Adding that, on this day, they are witnessing exceptional outcomes that reflect our students' readiness to take on future responsibilities and contribute to building more conscious and sustainable communities.
Al Khalifa noted that QF is constantly striving to create a stimulating and innovative educational environment that embraces cultural diversity while reinforcing ethical and human values, and enhancing life and leadership skills. This is achieved through advanced curricula, enrichment programs, and both local and international educational partnerships.
She explained that the Foundation operates a comprehensive educational network of 13 schools, serving students from early childhood through grade 12, along with a post-secondary foundation program.
She said that their student community includes more than 8,000 students representing 47 nationalities, with Qatari students forming the majority—over 7,000 of them, expressing that this cultural diversity is a defining feature of their educational community and a central component of their learning experience. She also stressed their believe that every student has unique potential, and that educational, intellectual, and cultural differences should be seen as opportunities for growth rather than obstacles.
She went on saying that for this reason, they adopt a holistic educational approach focused on personalized learning, tailored to meet each student’s needs. This includes multi-tiered academic support, individualized education plans, and encouragement to develop students’ strengths and personal interests.
Al Khalifa also highlighted the Foundation’s diverse school ecosystem, which includes leading institutions such as Qatar Academy schools, specialized schools like Awsaj Academy for students with learning needs, Renad Academy for students with autism, Qatar Academy for Science and Technology (focused on engineering and advanced technologies), Qatar Music Academy, and Qatar Leadership Academy. Additionally, progressive schools like Academyati, which offers student-centered learning, and Tariq Bin Ziad School, known for its deep national heritage and bilingual programs, form part of this diverse educational landscape.
She stressed the vital role of parents as core partners in the learning journey, stating that they believe that student success is not confined to the school environment alone—it is built upon a close partnership between school and home, grounded in trust, communication, and mutual respect.
Al Khalifa affirmed QF's dedication to engaging parents at every stage of their children's educational journey - whether through regular parent-teacher meetings, school events, or digital platforms that allow for ongoing monitoring of academic and behavioral performance. She also noted that parents are given a voice in educational decision-making through their participation in school councils and community initiatives.
QF President of Pre-University Education highlighted that students enrolled in QF schools benefit from a unique and integrated educational and community ecosystem that supports all aspects of their development. Students have access to the wide-ranging resources within Education City, including international universities, research centers, athletic and cultural facilities, and community programs. These resources, she noted, are complemented by initiatives that nurture dialogue, teamwork, environmental awareness, and social responsibility, while also empowering students to represent the Foundation both locally and globally and enhance their leadership skills.
She said that what makes the learning experience at QF exceptional, is the seamless integration between the classroom and the broader community. This enriches students' learning journeys, helping them grow into confident, aware, and impactful individuals - both locally and globally.
She emphasized that QF schools represent a leading model in delivering high-quality, holistic education where the student is at the heart of the learning process. These schools follow international standards while also adapting to students' diverse needs and abilities. Adding that this inclusive approach is the foundation of their excellence and is reflected in the trust placed in their system, which includes over 1,500 staff members from 78 nationalities working in a dynamic environment that values diversity and fosters excellence.
Al Khalifa reaffirmed QF's commitment to inclusive education that respects individual differences and provides all students with equal opportunities to learn and thrive. In line with this vision, QF schools welcome students with disabilities into supportive environments designed to meet their academic, behavioral, and social needs.
She pointed to the recent launch of Warif Academy in January—a collaborative initiative with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education—as the first government school in Qatar dedicated to students with severe and multiple disabilities, from ages 3 to 21.
The school offers comprehensive services, including physical therapy, speech and language therapy, and psychological support, all delivered by a multidisciplinary team. She stated that, this reflects QF's deep commitment to inclusive education through individualized programs, specialized staff, and safe, stimulating facilities.
Al Khalifa also highlighted QF's continued efforts to raise public awareness around inclusion and disability through both local and international partnerships. She expressed that they believe education is a right for every child, and that empowering students with disabilities is an investment in a more just and humane society. That's why they continue to enhance their capabilities to ensure every student can fully engage in academic and community life to the best of their abilities.
She further highlighted QF's strategic partnerships with various government bodies—chief among them the Ministry of Education - which have led to pioneering educational initiatives. One such initiative is Warif Academy, which exemplifies innovative learning environments tailored to societal needs and responsive to the evolving times. Al Khalifa reiterated the Foundation's ongoing efforts to develop new initiatives that improve educational quality and broaden opportunities for students.
She said that as they mark nearly three decades since QF was established, they take pride in a remarkable national journey that has shaped a unique model of investing in people and charted a future defined by knowledge, creativity, and identity.
She also pointed out that QF was never just a hub of knowledge; it has always been a catalyst for talent, an inspiration for generations, and a bridge between tradition and modernity, between local values and global aspirations.
