In a scene straight out of a cricketing fairytale Afghanistanrsquos Mohammad Nabi and his son Hassan Eisakhil shared a rare and unforgettable moment on the field. During a Shpageeza Cricket League match Eisakhil faced his father not just with respect but with fearless intent smashing a massive six off Nabirsquos delivery. The crowd erupted witnessing a special chapter in Afghan cricket a father and son competing at the highest level of domestic T20. A Family Affair in the SCL The memorable clash took place during the match between Amo Sharks and Mis Ainak Knights. Eisakhil opening for the Sharks looked in sublime form and top-scored for his team with a brisk 52 off 36 balls helping them post a competitive 162 runs. In the ninth over Nabi was brought into the attack only to see his son step down the pitch and launch the ball over the boundary with a confident strike a moment that had fans roaring in delight. The Knights chased down the target with ease winning by five wickets and 18 balls to spare. Fittingly it was Nabi who struck the winning runs finishing the game with a six of his own and taking his team to the top of the table. A Dream Waiting to Unfold Earlier this year Nabi shared his dream of playing alongside Eisakhil for Afghanistan in ODIs calling it one of his greatest aspirations. ldquoItrsquos my dream. Hopefully we can do it. He is a hard worker and Irsquom pushing him to keep goingrdquo Nabi told ICC. If realised their partnership could mark a historic first for Afghanistan cricket mdash a father and son sharing the international dressing room.
