Jaipur, Jul 2 (PTI) Monsoon rains are expected to continue in Rajasthan throughout the week, when several places are likely to witness heavy to very heavy precipitation, a Met department spokesperson said on Wednesday. A circulation system is currently present in southeastern Rajasthan and surrounding areas, and the monsoon trough line is passing through southern Rajasthan, he said. Due to this effect, there is all possibility that heavy to very heavy rains will continue in southeastern and southern Rajasthan on Wednesday as well, the spokesperson said, adding that light to moderate rains at some places and heavy rains in most parts of eastern Rajasthan will continue for the next one week. Similarly, light to moderate rains may be recorded in some parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan for the next three to four days and heavy rains may occur at one or two places, he said. During the 24 hours until 8.30 am on Wednesday, heavy to very heavy rains occurred at many places in the state. The highest rainfall of 199 mm was recorded at Khanpur in Jhalawar. PTI AG RUK RUK
