Heinrich Klaasen After Record-Breaking Century Vs KKR: 'We Owe It To Fans...'

After achieving the joint third-fastest century in IPL history against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Heinrich Klaasen credited his adherence to processes for rediscovering his form, which had eluded him in the 2025 season. Promoted to bat at number three in the seventh over, Klaasen demonstrated his aggressive prowess by hitting nine sixes and seven fours to reach his second IPL century in just 37 balls. He finished unbeaten on 105 off 39 balls, helping SRH post 278/3, the third-highest total in the tournament’s history. “It’s been a long season filled with disappointments, but I’m very pleased to find my form by sticking to my processes. Pride gave me focus, and we owe it to the fans to deliver good performances. The franchise has invested a lot of time and money to play this brand of cricket, and it was up to us to step up,” said Klaasen during a mid-innings interview. When asked about his approach on the fresh pitch in New Delhi, Klaasen explained, “I attempted to hit every ball for six, which was my mistake this season. Narine’s spell was particularly challenging, but I tried to improvise. Playing hard lengths is a bit tougher.” Klaasen also mentioned that his batting position at number three is situational. “I’m a situation player, which is the plan in the dugout. If we lose a wicket after or just at the end of the powerplay, I go in. If a wicket falls earlier, it doesn’t quite fit. For me, it’s just a number; it all depends on the team situation.”
