‘Helmet too big’: Pretorius leaves fans in splits during 3rd T20I - Watch
@Source: indiatimes.com
Cricket fans were treated to a hilarious moment in the third T20I between Australia and South Africa at Cazaly’s Stadium on Saturday, when young Proteas batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius found himself battling more than just the bowlers. Facing Josh Hazlewood, Pretorius tried to loft a delivery and set off running. But under the evening sky in Cairns, he momentarily lost track of the ball while sprinting between the wickets. The reason, as caught on camera, was almost comical; his helmet had slipped forward, partially covering his eyes. “Maybe his helmet sort of came over, the helmet is too big,” quipped one commentator, sparking laughter in the box and among fans on social media, where the clip quickly went viral.Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. His aggressive intent gave South Africa early momentum after skipper Aiden Markram fell in the first over. But his cameo ended abruptly. Nathan Ellis, introduced into the attack, struck with just his second delivery. Banging the ball in short at 127 kph, Ellis forced Pretorius into an awkward pull. The right-hander failed to keep it down and picked out Aaron Hardie at midwicket. Pretorius walked back with a rueful smile, his innings cut short but still the talking point of the evening.Ryan Rickelton followed soon after, leaving Dewald Brevis and Tristan Stubbs to rebuild. By the midway point of the innings, the Proteas had reached 113 for 4 in 12 overs. The series was locked 1-1 heading into this decider, but for a few minutes in Cairns, cricket took a backseat as Pretorius’ oversized helmet provided a moment of levity that had everyone — from commentators to fans online — laughing out loud.Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4.
