High schools Tuesday: Cony baseball, softball teams beat Lincoln Academy

AUGUSTA — Jordan Benedict pitched a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and just one walk Tuesday as the Cony baseball team claimed a 10-0 mercy-rule win over Lincoln Academy.
Parker Morin and Trenton Hayward had two hits and two RBIs apiece for Cony (6-2). Max Tibbetts also drove in a pair of runs. Hayward and Jack Spellman each had a double.
Blake Grady doubled and A.J. Giberson singled for Lincoln (0-8).
CONY 10, LINCOLN ACADEMY 7: The Rams plated six runs in the first inning en route to a win over the Eagles in Augusta.
Suri Ramkissoon had two hits and two stolen bases for Cony (5-3) and claimed the win in the circle with four strikeouts. Khloe Price had two hits and three RBIs.
Claire Ward had two hits and RBIs for Lincoln (2-5), which got another pair of RBIs from Olivia Ball.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 9, CONY 8: Stella Stewart capped off a four-goal day with the game-winner in overtime as the Black Bears topped the Rams in Augusta.
Alice Ferran and Mya St. Pierre had two goals each for Maranacook/Winthrop (5-1). The Black Bears got eight saves from Devyn Eliasen and four from Willow Woodford.
Abby Morrill had five goals for Cony (5-2). Avery Maxim had 12 saves for the Rams.
