Rahul opened the innings for the Shubman Gill-led side and scored 137 runs from 247 balls with the help of 18 fours, and Pant smashed 118 runs with the help of 15 fours and 3 sixes. India managed to take a lead of six runs in the first innings, and as a result, Gill’s men have set a target of 371 runs for England to chase down in the fourth innings and win the first Test to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Only once in 82 Tests played so far at Headingley in the last 126 years has a team managed to chase down a total of more than 370 runs.
