As part of research for a book project, I took a deep dive into an extraordinary Dublin family. The Solomons household is what you might call a treasure trove of distinction. Bethel Solomons (1885-1965) was a master of the Rotunda Hospital, a rugby international and even acted on the Abbey stage.
