Afrobeats star Davido has revealed how the loss of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, changed his life and gave him a refocus.
Davido and his wife, Chioma, lost their three-year-old son in October 2022 following a drowning incident at the singer’s residence in Banana Island, Lagos.
In an interview with ABC News’ Rocsi Diaz, Davido opened up about how the tragedy led to a change in perspective for him.
The ‘Blow My Mind’ crooner added that many have become inspired by their strength as a couple, disclosing that they have come forward to express their gratitude.
“Stepping away after losing my son and being able to look back into my career, gave me a refocus of how I wanted to move going forward. It changed my life.
“I know how many who randomly come to me at the airport to tell me how my strength has inspired them in hard times. I was telling me wife the other day that I’m proud of how we bounced back.
“Now, we got twins. They are big and shouting everywhere. For us to be able to go through the lost of our son and be able to bounce back in a major way is huge,” Davido shared.
