Manchester United reported summer transfer target Hugo Ekitike has dropped a huge hint over where his preferred destination could be at the end of the season. Ekitike has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks after finding his form with Eintracht Frankfurt. The France Under 21s international has scored 19 goals this season and has replaced Omar Marmoush as the Bundesliga side's threat following his January move to Manchester City . On Friday, the 22-year-old showed English fans what he was capable of by scoring a hat-trick in France's Under 21s' 5-3 win over England. United aren't alone in their interest in Ekitike with Arsenal and Chelsea keen. Now, with reports continuing to link United with the former Paris Saint-Germain star has sparked excitement among supporters by admitting he supported the club when growing up in France. During a segment with the Frankfurt media team on YouTube, the striker quickly responded ' Manchester United ' when asked which club was his 'favourite' as a child. News that Ekitike was a fan of United as a kid is no surprise given the club's history. It'll be music to the ears of Ruben Amorim and his recruitment team ahead of the summer transfer window with the club expected to push for a new centre-forward. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have both struggled for consistency this season leaving United with little choice but to invest in a new centre-forward. However, Arsenal and Chelsea are both struggling in the final third and are set to be in the market for a brand new striker. A number of reports have suggested Frankfurt will demand close to £67million in the summer, with Ekitike expected to be on the move, whether that's to United or elsewhere. It's a similar fee that RB Leipzig want for Benjamin Sesko and Aston Villa could ask for Ollie Watkins. --- Here at the Manchester Evening News, we’re dedicated to bringing you the best Manchester United coverage and analysis.
