Manchester United are continuing to be linked with signing a new striker as the summer transfer window rolls on. United have had a relatively quiet summer window so far, with just one new addition to their squad. Matheus Cunha was signed by United back in June for £62.5million and was recently confirmed as being the new owner of the iconic No.10 shirt at Old Trafford . There have been reports for several weeks claiming that United are looking to sign a new striker this summer. Liam Delap was a player of interest to United before he instead chose to complete a £30million move to Chelsea from Ipswich Town. Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres has also been heavily linked with a move to United this summer. However, various reports have now claimed that Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign the Sweden international, which is likely to see United's search for a new striker continue. The Mirror have now reported that Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike is once again being mentioned as a target for United this summer. It has been claimed that Ekitike is now being considered by United as they assess "alternative" targets after missing out on Delap and Gyokeres. It remains to be seen if United will pursue a deal for Ekitike or if the striker will want to move to Old Trafford. There have also been reports from Fabrizio Romano that have claimed a move to the Premier League is the most likely outcome for Ekitike if he was to leave Frankfurt, although Liverpool are also said to be interested. Ekitike has been heavily linked with a move away from Frankfurt with United mentioned as a potential destination in the past. The striker is reported to have a price tag worth €100millon (£86million) which has been set by the Bundesliga club this summer.
