‘I just want to have a game of golf, go down the boozer’ – Steven Gerrard on his future plans amid Rangers speculation

SOME Rangers fans would LOVE him to return to the club where he ended Celtic's pursuit of ten in a row by landing a historic Premiership title.
But Steven Gerrard has revealed that a return to management couldn't be further from his mind right now.
The Liverpool legend is back in his home city after his stint at Saudi Arabia and isn't hankering for a return to the stresses and strains of football management.
He told the Peter Crouch podcast: "I don't want to be back in work mate. Not at the moment.
"I've just come out, so I'm happy with waking up and being free, doing the family stuff.
"I'm just being free, away from stress and all that.
"I will go back in at some point, but when it's around the clock, which I've been doing the last 18-19 months in terms of the last job, I just want to be free, I just want to have a game of golf, go down the boozer and have a couple of beers.
"I want to do normal things that you can't really do when you're coaching, so I am all good.
"I'm good and stress free. I’m out of work in terms of the coaching and management, which is obviously 24/7.
"I'm back in Liverpool for a couple of weeks, seeing friends and family. I’m great, I'm all good."
Former team-mate Stephane Henchoz, on the other hand, reckons a Gerrard returns to Glasgow is entirely logical.
He said recently: "I think Steven Gerrard going back to Rangers would 100 per-cent make sense, he delivered at Rangers during his first spell and I think the fans would be pleased.
"At the moment the club are in a very difficult situation, Barry Ferguson has come in as caretaker manager, we will have to see how things go until the end of the season. I think Steven Gerrard would be a very good solution for the summer.
"At the moment Celtic are far away from Rangers, I was there to see them play Young Boys in the Champions League and they played great football, had great movement and they have great technical players.
"That’s enough to win the title in Scotland. I was surprised at how well they did in the Champions League."
