Afrobeats megastar Wizkid has set social media ablaze after casually endorsing Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles of Nigeria squad ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda.
With the national team’s camp in Kigali, Rwanda, buzzing with high energy and positivity, clips of their intense training sessions and team camaraderie have been making waves on social media as the new gaffer shaked up his final squad selection for both qualifiers.
The excitement surrounding the squad caught the attention of the "Morayo" crooner and Afrobeats great, who took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to share his thoughts.
"New Super Eagles team! Love the energy." Wizkid wrote, sparking a flurry of reactions from fans.

Super Eagles set for crucial battle under Eric Chelle’s command
Meanwhile, Pulse Sports earlier reported that the Super Eagles squad is now fully assembled in Kigali, with the arrival of Major League Soccer midfielder Alhassan Yusuf completing the 23-man roster.
According to journalist OgaNla Media, who is on ground in Rwanda, Yusuf’s addition strengthens the squad as they gear up for the must-win clashes.
With preparations in full swing, the team held their second training session last night under the watchful eyes of new boss Eric Chelle, alongside senior players William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, and African Player of the Year, Ademola Lookman.
Chelle faces a tricky challenge in reigniting Nigeria’s slim 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification hopes, following a rocky start to the campaign.
With all hands on deck, the Super Eagles will take on Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars this Friday in Kigali, before returning to Uyo for a home fixture against Zimbabwe four days later.
With Wizkid’s approval and a rejuvenated squad, all eyes are on the Super Eagles to deliver and keep Nigeria’s World Cup dreams alive.
