The Indian Premier League (IPL) is not only the best cricketing tournament but also counted as one of the top leagues in the world. Over the years, some of the biggest names have been in attendance to get a view of the action in the biggest summer cricketing carnival. Former England football manager Gareth Southgate was spotted in the stands watching the Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians (RR vs MI) IPL 2025 game on Thursday night. Advertisment Southgate was seen sporting the pink jersey of Rajasthan Royals while sitting in the stands. RR sported a special jersey on the occasions of the "women"s empowerment" drive that was announced during the toss. The former England manager seemed to have had a great considering the mountain of runs scored by MI in the first half of the game. The 54-year-old former English Premier League star with over 500 career appearances took to the dugout after his retirement in 2008. After managing his former club Middlesbrough, Southgate moved to manage England Under21 side where he oversaw 21 wins from 37 games. With the senior England side, Southgate came close to winning the Euros twice in 2020 and 2024 and finished runners-up on each occasions. The five-time IPL winners lost just two wickets in what was a powerful performance with the bat. Riyan Parag won the toss and chose to bowl first against a high-flying Mumbai Indians unit. Ryan Rickelton scored his second successive fifty before he was castled by Maheesh Theekshana on the fifth ball of the 12th over. Rickelton got his runs off 38 balls with seven boundaries and three sixes. Rohit Sharma scored 33 runs with nine hits to the fence and treated his fans to a special innings as a post birthday gift. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav then added 94 unbeaten runs for the third wicket in just 44 balls. Both batters were not out on 48, with Yadav ending the innings with a six and also took the orange cap as he went pas Sai Sudharsan with his unbeaten knock that came off 23 balls with four boundaries and three sixes. Hardik Pandya scored his 48 off 23 balls as well with six fours and a six.
