Incredible Adare Manor wedding goes viral as most lavish of all time

Social media has been full of what has been dubbed the most incredible wedding of all time in Co. Limerick's historic and renowned Adare Manor this week. The happy couple are New Yorkers Ally Rice and Sean Fernando, who were surrounded by 100 of their friends and family who had jetted in for the spectacular occasion. The wedding was not a simple affair and it is clear that no expenses were spared. Rumoured to have cost seven figures, the three-day affair has been truly awe-inducing for those of us watching from our phones. One user commented "I need a Netflix documentary on it", and we're inclined to agree! Who is behind the jaw-dropping displays and beautiful design of the wedding? The event came together with the work of a production team headed by celebrity wedding planner Marcy Blum, VOGUE and Harper's BAZAAR top-rated event planner and designer. Blum is no stranger to extravagance, having planned the weddings of an extensive list of high-profile celebrities including Billy Joel, LeBron James and Ricky Fowler. The wedding planner has shared many clips of the wedding coming together on her social media, saying: "Hundreds of people, both local and from around the world, collaborated over 18 months on Ally and Sean's Adare Manor day." The itinerary As if the stunning setting and the celebrity wedding planner isn't impressive enough, the itinerary for the weekend has blown our minds. The day before the wedding guests were invited to an exclusive 'gifting lounge' (no party favours here), where they chose from selections of "Irish essentials". Shelves were adorned with treats, luxury candles and soaps, Irish wool throws, water bottles, tins of artisanal biscuits and jars of spreads, books on Irish cookery, token key rings and magnets. Guests left with gifts fit for a king or queen! The lucky attendees then embarked on the ultimate pub crawl through Adare village led by a horse-and-hound. Images and videos shared by guests showed them indulging in Guinness, Irish whiskeys and some even tried their hand at traditional céilí dancing. Day two saw the guests get competitive with a full-scale golf tournament dubbed 'The Fernando Cup', hosted on Adare Manor’s championship course, an impressive way to settle the jitters before the big day, given the course is set to host the Ryder Cup in 2027. Meanwhile, those who weren't up to par explored Ireland’s countryside, including trips to the Cliffs of Moher and falconry experiences back at the estate. That evening saw guests attend what is known as the Manor Soirée. The experience involved an immersive theatrical dinner where actors guided guests through a reimagined history of the estate, followed by cocktails, fine dining, topped off with an actual petting zoo of animals. The Big Day The wedding ceremony itself was held in a bespoke glass marquee on the manor’s grounds, adorned with florals and greenery. The beautiful bride's dress was an off-the shoulder tulle gown embroidered with delicate flowers rising from the hem. The party got started with a topiary chess-inspired cocktail hour, as Marcy’s team noted: 'We were all just willing pawns in Ally & Sean’s chess topiary cocktail hour.' Everything was on theme, from the checkered flooring to the king and queen pawns denoting each toilet. The dinner took place in a banquet hall-esque set up, lit by ornate chandeliers and candles. It's fair to say that we all feel like we were at this wedding, though we might not have any Irish luxury gifts to show for it. Users on TikTok shared the same sentiment, with one woman joking: "Did anyone else feel like they attended Ally and Sean's wedding this week?" as another commented, "I felt like I was part of it." The wedding has certainly broken the internet, but users were quick to thank those who shared clips from the event. Others pointed out that the weekend was a great boost for local businesses, saying : "This is amazing for all the Irish businesses that were getting a small part." Goss.ie estimates that the venue's booking fees and accommodation alone would have cost upwards of €120,000, but this figure does not even account for the dress, decor, flowers, entertainment and cost of flying over all their guests!
