The Indian cricket team created a huge world record during their heroic effort in Manchester as they put up a batting display for the ages at the Old Trafford Cricket Stadium in Manchester to overturn a 311-run first innings lead and draw the game to keep the series alive ahead of the final game at the Oval from Thursday (July 30). Despite being 0-2, India put up a huge score of 425-4 on the board before the two teams shook hands and settled for a draw. Shubman Gill (103), Washington Sundar (101), and Ravindra Jadeja (107) scored centuries while KL Rahul played a vital knock of 90. India Create History In Manchester The effort means that India has scored 350+ totals in seven of the eight innings they batted in the series. This is the most by any team in history during a single series, beating a record Australia first set in the 1920-21 Ashes. The Australians also managed to repeat the feat twice more. India has also made 300+ totals on seven occasions in a series for the first time and is just one of seven teams to achieve the feat. Three teams among them have managed to cross the mark of eight teams in a series. The Shubman Gill-led side has the chance to break the world record at the Oval if they manage to cross the 300-run mark in both innings. India also became only the second team in history where five left-handers scored a half-century in the same test match. Australia are the only team to achieve the rare feat, when five lefties reached the milestone against Sri Lanka at Hobert in 2012. The Indian team are the first team to achieve the rare feat away from home. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar's second-innings efforts followed Rishabh Pant, Sai Sudharsan, and Yashasvi Jaiswal's display in the first innings. Two England lefties (Ben Duckett, Ben Stokes) also got a half-century. Seven 50's by lefties is also the most in any Test match ever.
