India-Pak Tensions: Amid soaring tensions between India and Pakistan following aerial strikes, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport issued fresh advisories on Friday to all passengers travelling via air saying that flight operations are normal, though some services are likely to be impacted due to changes in airspace and heightened security protocols.
“Delhi Airport operations continue as normal. However, due to evolving airspace conditions and enhanced security protocols, some flight schedules may be impacted,” it said in the advisory issued on Friday at 10:25 AM.

The airport further urged the passengers to follow hand baggage and check-in luggage regulations, check with their airlines for real-time updates and to rely only on official information.
The Mumbai Airport also urged the passengers to arrive well in advance as they might experience longer wait times at the airport.
“In view of enhanced security measures, passengers may experience longer wait times at the airport. We recommend arriving well in advance to ensure a smooth travel experience,” it said in a post on X.

The advisory came after aerial attacks by Pakistan targeting Jammu as well as several military stations near the western border, which were successfully foiled by India’s air defence systems.
Additionally, IndiGo announced to cancel all flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, and Rajkot until 2359 hrs till 10 May 2025.
In response to heightened security threats, India has temporarily shut down operations at 24 airports across northern and western regions. These include:
Jammu and Kashmir: Srinagar, Jammu, Leh
Punjab: Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Halwara
Himachal Pradesh: Shimla, Kangra-Gaggal, Bhuntar
Rajasthan: Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner
Gujarat: Mundra, Jamnagar, Hirasar, Porbandar, Keshod, Kandla, Bhuj
Kishengarh (Rajasthan)
Pathankot (Punjab)
The development came in view of Operation Sindoor, under which armed forces carried out strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Wednesday morning. The strikes on terror camps were launched to avenge the horrendous Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people — 25 tourists and one local — on April 22.
