@Source: odishatv.in
Mumbai Indians former captain Rohit Sharma has encountered a challenging start in the 2025 Indian Premier League IPL season. Despite his recent successes on the international stage including leading India to a Champions Trophy victory in Dubai Rohits form in the IPL has been underwhelming. In the first three matches he recorded scores of 0 against Chennai Super Kings 8 against Gujarat Titans and 13 against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Pollards Vote of Confidence
Amidst growing concerns over Rohits performance Mumbai Indians batting coach Kieron Pollard has expressed unwavering support for the seasoned batsman. Pollard emphasized Rohits illustrious career and his ability to bounce back from temporary slumps.
quotPersonally Ive played alongside Rohit since under-19 cricket and he has forged his name and etched his name in history in the record books in different situations different formats of the game. Hes a legendary name in his own right and as an individual as well.quot Mumbai Indians batting coach said.
ldquoThere are times when you have a couple of low scores hellip he has earned the right as an individual to now enjoy his cricket and not be pressurized in certain situations. So lets not judge on a couple of low scores. In cricket we know we fail more than we succeed and Im sure well be singing his praises when he gives us that big score and then well be on to the next hot topicrdquo he added.

He retired as the formats highest run-scorer amassing 4231 runs in 159 matches and holds the record for the most centuries in T20 internationals with five. Despite stepping away from international T20s Rohit continues to participate in domestic T20 leagues such as the IPL.
Upcoming Challenges
Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya Mumbai Indians are set to face Lucknow Super Giants on April 4 at the Ekana Stadium. The team aims to secure their second win of the season especially after their commanding victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous match. As the tournament progresses both fans and analysts will be keenly observing Rohits performance hoping for a resurgence that aligns with his established reputation.
