@Source: news18.com
Most Wickets in IPL 2025, Purple Cap: Mohammed Siraj registered his career-best IPL figures on Sunday (April 6) to help Gujarat Titans secure an 7-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2025 match played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The 31-year-old fast bowler from Hyderabad led GT’s bowling attack against the home team and dismissed four batters for 17 runs in four overs. His figures of 4 for 17 also helped him move to the No. 2 position in the list of leading wicket-takers in IPL 2025. The former RCB pacer opened his account on Sunday by getting Travis Head out on the last ball of the first over of the match. The left-handed batter handed a simple catch to Sai Sudharsan after making 8 runs from five balls. In his third over, Siraj removed Head’s opening partner, Abhishek Sharma. Like Head, Abhishek also handed a simple catch to Rahul Tewatia. Siraj then bowled the 19th over of the SRH innings, and in the last three balls, he picked up the wickets of Aniket Verma (18 from 14 balls) and Simarjeet Singh (two-ball duck). The figures of 2 for 24 in four overs helped Sai Kishore extend his tally of wickets to 8 this year, and he has now moved to the No. 4 position in the list of leading wicket-takers led by CSK spinner Noor Ahmad (10 wickets). For SRH, Mohammed Shami picked up two wickets and Pat Cummins dismissed each batter, but their effort was not enough to help the Orange Cap avoid a fourth defeat in five IPL 2025 matches played so far.
