The Kolkata Police have declined to provide security clearance citing the extensive Ram Navami celebrations across West Bengal. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari has announced over 20000 processions across the state for the festival leading to increased security demands. Cricket Association of Bengal CAB president Snehasish Ganguly confirmed after two discussions with the police that authorities could not ensure adequate security for the 65000-capacity crowd. quotThey have categorically said they wonrsquot be able to provide adequate security. Cuttack Barabati Stadium As An Alternative Venue With Eden Gardens unlikely to host the fixture the Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI has been informed and discussions are underway to finalise an alternative venue. The Barabati Stadium in Cuttackcan emerge as a possible option due to its proximity and past experience of hosting IPL matches. With all the necessary infrastructure in place recent upgrades to floodlights and a cricket-loving crowd the Silver City may see an IPL fixture coming its way. Grand IPL 2025 Kickoff at Eden Gardens Despite the uncertainty surrounding the KKR vs LSG match Eden Gardens remains the stage for IPL 2025rsquos opening ceremony on March 22.Defending champions KKR will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the season opener. The ceremony lasting 35 minutes is expected to feature performances by singer Shreya Ghoshal and actress Disha Patani.
