Iran to rely on diplomacy in case of problems with its nuclear program — diplomat

ASHAGBAT, February 10. /TASS/. Iran’s peaceful nuclear program does not run counter to its international obligations and should any problems stemming from it arise, Iran will address them diplomatically, Iranian Ambassador to Ashgabat Ali Mojtaba Rouzbahani said.
"Thanks to our efforts working with the International Atomic Energy Agency, our peaceful nuclear program has always been in compliance with international commitments. Iran prefers to maintain talks and diplomacy as a tool to resolve potential problems linked with its peaceful nuclear program. But the truth is that the United States withdrew from the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on the Iranian nuclear program - TASS) and the Europeans failed to fulfil their obligations," he said at a reception at the Iranian embassy on the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, known as the Iran nuclear deal, was signed by the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and Germany with Iran in 2015 to get out of the crisis around Iranian nuclear developments. During his first presidential term, Donald Trump withdrew from the deal in 2018 and re-imposed all the anti-Iranian sanctions after they began to be lifted under the deal.
The 22nd of Bahman according to the Iranian calendar, which falls on February 10 this year, is marked as a main national holiday, Islamic Revolution Day, when it commemorates the end of the rule of its last Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi (1941-1979).
