Ireland Vs West Indies: 3rd T20I – Highlights
Ireland opted to bowl first, but their start was not ideal, conceding several loose deliveries, which West Indies punished.
A commanding batting display from the West Indies propelled them to an imposing 256/5 in their allotted 20 overs. After being asked to bat first, openers Shai Hope and Evin Lewis established a robust platform with a 122-run partnership in under 11 overs. Hope contributed 51 runs, while Lewis narrowly missed a century, scoring 91.
Jason Holder, Rovman Powell, and Shimron Hetmyer made minimal contributions. However, Keacy Carty, making his T20I debut, struck an unbeaten 49 from just 22 deliveries. Late hitting from Romario Shepherd propelled West Indies to an almost record score.
Matthew Humphreys was the pick of the Irish bowlers, taking 2/16 in his four overs, while Barry McCarthy, Ben White, and Mark Adair each secured a wicket. However, dropped catches in the outfield hampered Ireland’s efforts.

Ireland’s innings began explosively, with Paul Stirling striking three boundaries from the first three deliveries. However, his early blitz was short-lived. Harry Tector and Mark Adair subsequently combined to steady the chase, forging an impressive 100-run partnership. Despite their efforts, the escalating required run rate mounted pressure, ultimately leading to their dismissals in consecutive overs. Ireland struggled to recover thereafter. While some late hitting injected a flicker of excitement, the target remained elusive, and the innings concluded well short of the required total.
The West Indies bowlers, bolstered by a substantial total, displayed confidence throughout. Jason Holder’s early dismissal of Stirling set the tone. Although Ireland’s partnership presented a challenge, the West Indies maintained control. Akeal Hosein shone with three wickets, while Roston Chase and Romario Shepherd each claimed a wicket, completing a comprehensive bowling performance.
