Ireland’s best takeaways crowned after awards ceremony takes place – is your favourite on list?

IRELAND'S best takeaway for this year has been officially declared - with many other fast food joints across the country taking home prizes.
The votes have been counted and the verdict is in, with the winner of the Irish Takeaway Awards 2025 revealed after hundreds of potential candidates battled for the crown.
Many fast food joints - ranging from burgers and burritos to pizzas and chippers - across the country have entered the competition, and a few have been selected as winners in multiple categories.
The grand winner of the Irish Takeaway of the Year award went to AJ's Takeaway, located in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal.
It's dubbed as a "traditional fast food takeaway with a friendly face" and the staff are very welcoming to their loyal customers.
They serve a vast selection of food, ranging from chips and burgers to pizzas and chicken - including some specials that are loved by customers.
The fast food establishment also secured the top spot for other awards, including Best Fish and Chips and Onion Ring of the Year.
The second big winner of the ceremony was Ireland's Chef of the Year, which went to James Ausden from Inside Out to Go in Slane, Co Meath.
They are well known for fantastic pizza, chicken, and pasta dishes, which have sent customers into a frenzy.
Elsewhere, the popular Once Upon a Thai street food truck in Co Meath secured the Asian Takeaway of the Year Award, serving customers fantastic curry dishes with fresh Irish and Thai produce.
The establishment was the previous winner of Irish Takeaway of the Year in 2024.
Tony's Pizzeria in Dundalk, Co Louth took the top spot for Ireland's Best Pizza award for the second year in a row, knocking down many popular pizzeria joints nationwide.
The establishment isn't shy of securing awards as it was the winner of Best Food Delivery 2023 and 2024, Best Independent Takeaway 2023 and Excellent Pizza in Dundalk 2024.
And for those burger gurus, the Best Burger award went to The Yellow Submarine in Cork, while Noodlee Cork secured the top spot for Chinese Takeaway of the Year.
For foodies looking for their next breakfast takeaway, Zaidi Fushion Catering at the Balcony Cafe in Athlone bagged themselves the Breakfast of the Year award.
Mama Masala from Derry won the World Food Takeaway of the Year award, serving customers delicious authentic Indian and Italian food.
The food establishment is famous for its "award-winning" chefs who have extensive international experience when it comes to preparing "world class" cuisine.
For sweet treat lovers, the winner of Sweet Treat of the Year goes to An Capall Mara in Killybegs, Co Donegal.
The food cart provides delicious hot and cold drinks with bizarre flavours and fantastic pastries to make you return for more.
The nationwide winners of 37 awards are listed on the Irish Takeaway Awards website, as are the runner-ups from each province of Ireland.
