The Blues eased past Tottenham on Thursday night with Enzo Fernandez scoring the goal that moved his side back into fourth place at the expense of Manchester City and Newcastle United. Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Noni Madueke all made their returns from injury that evening with the latter coming off the bench for the final 20 minutes of the contest. It means Enzo Maresca has a relatively clean bill of health as they prepare for the short trip to Brentford on Sunday. Wesley Fofana however is having another spell on the sidelines. The former Leicester City was left out of the matchday squad on Thursday night, sparking fresh concerns given his lengthy battles with injury in recent years. Chelsea confirmed on Friday their defender has undergone hamstring surgery and will have no further role to play this season. Romeo Lavia meanwhile is likely to be a doubt after the Belgian suffered a minor injury setback in training this week.
