President Donald Trump took aim at a Fox News anchor in his latest attack against the media on Wednesday. Trump criticized Fox News’s senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich in a post to Truth Social after he said he watched her coverage over the weekend. This is just Trump’s latest jab toward major news outlets, as he frequently labels outlets like CNN as “fake news.” “I watched Jacqui Heinrich from Fox over the weekend and I thought she was absolutely terrible. She should be working for CNN, not Fox. Not surprisingly, I later found out that she’s a fan of the White House Correspondents Association!” he wrote on Truth Social. Trump critic Ron Filipkowski jabbed the president over his comment. “Everyone at Fox must be Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters, or Jeanine Pirro or the thin-skinned crybaby gets vewy, vewy angry,” he wrote on social media platform X. Other commenters also criticized Trump over his attack on Heinrich. “I prefer a president who doesn’t sit around screeching about his coverage on the news all day,” one user wrote. Another user asked: “Does he actually do anything besides watch Fox News and golf?” Heinrich previously criticized the Trump administration’s decision to strip power away from the White House Correspondents Association. “This move does not give the power back to the people - it gives power to the White House. The WHCA is democratically elected by the full-time White House press corps. WHCA has determined pools for decades because only representatives FROM our outlets can determine resources all those outlets have - such as staffing - in order to get the President’s message out to the largest possible audience, no matter the day or hour,” Heinrich said in a post last month. The White House announced last month that it will decide for themselves which reporters will cover the president when the press is “pooled.” Pool reporters were previously determined on a rotating schedule by the White House Correspondents Association.
